Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo (1907–1954) was a Mexican artist born in Coyoacán, Mexico City. She is best known for her self-portraits, which explore themes of identity, pain, nature, and the human experience. Her art is characterized by bold colors, intricate symbolism, and a unique blend of Mexican folk art, religious imagery, and elements of Surrealism—although Kahlo herself rejected the label of Surrealist. Her sources of inspiration included Mexican culture and folklore, nature, her personal experiences, and the history and traditions of her country. Today, Frida Kahlo is regarded as one of the world's most celebrated artists, and her work continues to inspire artists and designers around the globe.
