Baien Kinpu 01

Baien Kinpu mushroom posters are based on the Japanese work Baien Kinpu (梅園菌譜), also known as 'Baien's Fungus Album', created around 1836 by the Japanese samurai and naturalist Mōri Baien. The work consists of hand-painted illustrations of mushrooms and fungi from Edo-period Japan and is today known for its unique combination of botanical precision and poetic, artistic aesthetics. What makes Baien Kinpu posters particularly popular as wall art is their calm colours, organic forms and elegant Japanese brushstrokes.
