Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist artist from the late 19th century. Van Gogh's painterly talent was remarkable, and he received only limited formal art training. Yet he became one of the most celebrated painters in history, known for his vivid colours, expressive brushwork and beautiful compositions.
Almond Blossom was painted in 1890 to celebrate the birth of van Gogh's nephew — branches of white blossom against a clear blue sky, inspired by Japanese prints. A serene, hopeful image that brings calm and beauty to any wall.
